Clay is the Senior Analyst and General Counsel for FTR. He focuses on organization and system efficiencies through data-driven decisions. His research interests include legal regulation, supply chain efficiency and dynamics, and leadership style evolution. Clay is a member of the Transportation Lawyers Association and has a particular interest in emerging legal issues in transportation, logistics, and data privacy caused by new technology.
Clay teaches periodically as an adjunct professor for both Indiana University and Ivy Tech Community College in business law, legal research and writing, constitutional law, criminal justice, and leadership development. He has presented economic papers in the United States, Canada, and Britain.
Prior to coming to FTR, Clay served as COO and General Counsel for a technology company. He has also maintained a private law practice in Bloomington for more than 10 years. Clay lives in Bloomington with his family. Together they enjoy camping, cooking, and being outside. He and his family are very active in the Boy Scouts of America.
Clay has a BS in Genetic Biology from Purdue University, West Lafayette; J.D. from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, Bloomington; and Ph.D. from Indiana University Bloomington.
