Kyle Kottke is the General Manager and co-owner of Kottke Trucking. In 1996, at the age of 18, Kyle became a co-owner of Kottke Trucking when the company entered its third generation of ownership when his father, Duane, sold the company to Kyle and his brothers, Kurt and Kory. Now, 23 years later, Kottke Trucking is celebrating more than eight decades as a family-owned and operated business.
As General Manager, Kyle finds himself heavily involved in negotiations, operations management, freight operations and financial analysis. As is the case in family-owned businesses, that is just the tip of the iceberg of the multitude of things he finds himself involved in on a day-to-day.
Kyle has spearheaded the Kottke family’s involvement with trucking associations around the country. These involvements have seen Kyle travel to the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul and the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. to talk with lawmakers about how the government and the trucking industry can work in better harmony. This involvement has also resulted in Kyle serving on multiple boards and committees, including his stint as Chairman of the Minnesota Trucking Association in 2014.
Kyle enjoys spending time with his wife Desiree, their four girls and the rest of his family. He also enjoys coaching youth girls basketball. Kyle believes that each and every day is a learning opportunity, make sure you don’t miss those opportunities.
