Thomas Jackson is the Vice President of Marketing for The Greenbrier Companies (GBX), a global manufacturer and service provider of railroad equipment, overseeing the marketing initiatives in North America, Europe, and emerging markets such as Saudi Arabia. His teams manage the strategic planning, competitive intelligence, and digital marketing programs to railroads, industrial shippers, and capital leasing customers. His marketing analytical group research and forecasts freight markets, commodities, equipment, and associated aftermarket products and services to determine demand levels, market share, and growth trends. The group also oversees industry and competitive analysis, 5-year strategic plan, and new product developments such as the launch of Virtual Sample Railcar™ and the Multi-Max™. Mr. Jackson joined Greenbrier in 2010, after spending nearly 20 years in marketing leadership roles at freight transportation carriers such as FedEx (FDX), YRC Worldwide (YRCW), and Estes Express Lines, the largest private LTL carrier in North America. Mr. Jackson is also the Vice Chairman of the Canadian Association of Railway Suppliers, and an active board member and voting representative for various other industry trade groups such as Intermodal Association of North America, Railway Supply Institute, and National Industrial Transportation League. Mr. Jackson holds BA from the University of Akron and advanced programs from the University of Chicago and Ashland University.
